Special Interest Groups (SIG)

The Build It Yourself SIG meets on the 1st Monday of the month. This SIG focuses on hardware and component selection for building your own computer system, peripherals and open source software systems such as Linux. Group Leader:.Fred Townsend

The Digital Imaging SIG meets on the 3rd Monday of each month to discuss topics of image editing using Photoshop or similar software and digital photography. The first part of the monthly meeting is devoted to instruction in basic techniques of digital image editing. Group leaders: George Hamma & Richard Eggers

The Multimedia SIG has been joined into the Digital Imaging SIG. This SIG focused on multimedia software, hardware and techniques, including sound editing, transfer of analog audio and video sources to digital format and portable media players.

The Web Design SIG is a tutorial class covering techniques of web page design, creation and maintenance taught by the SVCS webmaster. Topics include HTML, CSS and Java script, page layout and design, and content management systems (Drupal, WordPress). WebSIG meets on the 4th Monday of the month. Group Leader: Maurice Green

The Windows SIG covers all topics related to the use of the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office products. WinSIG meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month. Group Leader: Kevin Lynn
