Multimedia SIG
A Group Videotaping Project
We've talked about it, we've seen examples of it, now we're going to try it as a group exercise/experiment: videotaping, editing and publishing a video on DVD.
Our subject will be the General Meeting where Kevin Lynn will be Speaking about "Two Ways To Upgrade from Vista to Windows 7".
This is an important subject, because as Win 7 becomes cleaned up and debugged, it should become better than Win XP and Vista. However, now is probably not the time most of us are ready to upgrade, so it will be important to have an archive of instructions and demonstration on how to do it. It's also an opportunity to actually videotape a meeting; then meet at least once sometime in December or January to discuss problems and issues; then edit the various clips into one final production; and finally publish it to DVD.
If you would like to participate in this experiment, show up at the Santa Clara Micro Center at 7 pm Monday, 2 November and find your way to the classroom in back. Bring your video camera if you want, though we won't be doing much filming at the meeting; rather we'll discuss strategies and techniques, and choose volunteers to videotape the General Meeting. This will not be an instructional session, rather a discussion of how we will approach video taping the meeting. Your ideas and suggestions are expected and welcome.
This topic will probably continue for the next several Multimedia SIG meetings, as we discuss, and hopefully resolve, problems and issues we encounter in recording, editing and producing a final product. If the experiment is successful, we might be able to create a video history of General Meeting presentations.
