TonidoPlug -"Personal Cloud in a Box"
Amar K., CodeLathe, Inc
TonidoPlug is a tiny, low power, low cost plug computer based on a 1.2 GHz Sheeva (ARM) processor that works as a personal home server and NAS device. Users can connect any of their external USB hard drives to a TonidoPlug and access all their files, music and media stored in the drive from other computers or mobile devices. Additionally, using TonidoPlug, users can share content directly with friends without uploading or attaching files in an email.
User Experience: Requires three steps to set it up
· Connect TonidoPlug to a router
· Connect a USB external hard drive to TonidoPlug
· Create a <username>
Now, users can access all their file and media via an URL http://<username>.tonidoid.com using any standard browser.
To share files/media, users would create a URL e.g. http://username.tonidoid.com/xyz.doc for a media or file (requires just a click to create a URL) and would send just the URL to their friends instead of uploading the entire file in an email.
TonidoPlug comes with 10 different add-on apps. Demo will cover basic setup and would give a quick overview of various features (apps) beyond accessing and sharing files. For more go yo the CodeLathe website
