Elliot Margolies, Midpeninsula Media Center
NOTE: This meeting will be held at the Midpeninsula Community Media Center, 900 San Antonio Road, Palo Alto. A tour of the Center operations and studio is included.
Founded in 1990, the Midpeninsula Community Media Center helps local individuals and groups use the power of video, television and the internet to inform, persuade and build community. They provide video production and editing services, offer classes and seminars, broadcast local government meetings and operate five cable television channels serving the communities of Atherton, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Palo Alto and Stanford.
Margolies has produced and facilitated community-based media on the San Francisco Midpeninsula since 1984.He was the founding Executive Director of the Midpeninsula Community Media Center in Palo Alto. Margolies has helped over three-hundred Midpeninsula nonprofit organizations, government agencies, schools, and neighborhood associations to produce video programs and more recently media for the web.In 2000, the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce awarded him the Tall Tree Award as Professional of the Year. He currently works as Strategic Initiatives Director for the Media Center and takes on a variety of other video, writing, and consulting projects as an independent contractor.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to use of the studio space for production, space for the evening session is limited to about 35 people. Feel free to attend the CompuSIR session at 12:30PM if you wish.
Directions to the MidPeninsula Media Center. Parking is avaiable in the lot in front of the building and on San Antonio Road.
All members and guests are invited to attend a NO-host dinner prior to our general meeting. Dinner will be at Green Elephant Gourmet, 3950 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto (in Charleston Center). Please plan to arrive between 5:30PM and 6PM so that we may finish in time for the meeting.
For those attending the midday CompuSIR session, lunch will be at 11:15AM at the Green Elephant Gourmet.
