SPAUG Meeting
A Pragmatic Look at Personal Digital Archiving
Cathy Marshall, Senior Researcher, Microsoft
What should I keep? Where should I keep it? How will I maintain it? How will I find it?
These questions present challenges:
- How content accumulates,
- How content is distributed and copied,
- Benign neglect as a mode of stewardship, and
- Retrival from an archive may differ from internet search or desktop retrieval.
Cathy Marshall will discuss these challenges and explore their implications for personal digital archiving technologies.
