The second talk came about as a result of people at the last meeting requesting it.  Please show up and tell us what you want to hear about and we will do our best to set it up.
I'm also anxious to hear about how the Stanford DUG went.  Not enough of something?  Too much of Others?  Let us know so we can pass it on to the Organizers.

Cleaning Up Your Home Mobile Device Power "Grid"
and Fresh Look at SSD for Your System
Andy Marken, Marken Communications

Everyone has mobile devices anymore - notebooks, netbooks, ultrabooks, tablets, smartphones, featurephones, iPhones, iPads, iEverything.  All of them have their own charging bricks that in a lot of homes (ours at least) clutter up the kitchen counter and office floor.  It's a freakin mess but there is a way to clean up the clutter and Andy's going to tell us how it can be done.   And yes he'll bring along one for the drawing.

Using Drupal as a Database
Maurice Green

Drupal logoSeems our discussion meandered off topic last month, so we'll try again. Content management systems (CMS)  like Drupal use a relational database like MySQL to store the information which is used to build the HTML for web pages. Drupal provides modules (CCK) to define the content types (tables) and content items (fields) in the database, to build data entry forms and to display the data (Views). We will discuss database structure and demonstrate how Drupal can be used to create an online database system.

In the Santa Clara MicroCenter store. Map and directions to the store.
